Watch movies played on PC streamed to Dreambox

Basically as Topic says.

I was hoping someone can redirect me to a guide that explains how to show movies played on my PC to show on my dreambox.

Ok - You need to have
1/ Downloaded on your dreambox ..a plug in called VLC frontend .
2/ Access the dreambox via FTP ..use Total Commander or equivalent ..and Edit the Config file used for VLCF ..and alter the IP and paths required , so that the dreambox knows where to access the PC on the LAN , and alos what the path is on the PC where the movies are stored .

3/ Downloaded on your PC ..a copy of VLC media player


TO PREPARE MOVIE
4/ On your PC , open VLC after its installed , and select SETTINGS , ADD INTERFACE , WEB INTERFACE . THATS ALL ! - no other changes are necessary at all ...itwill sit on the screen like its doing nothing for now -

This will allow the VLC media player to accept web connections on the LAN .

Thats all you have to do on the PC side

TO PLAY MOVIE
5 / Select VLC Frontend or VLCF under plugins on your Dreambox
IF you have everything correct , then ypu will see a list on the screen of movies available to you via the LAN ( your PC running VLC media player )
6/ Select movie ...and hit OK . A bar graph will proceed while loading , sit back and relax with chippies and dip . Oh , and much beer .

IF you get nothing ..I suggest you study the xml config file carefully for VLCF ...the mistake will likely be in the path . You only need on path stup for the FILES section. When you get smarter , you can even set it up for access to the DVD draw on your pc too .
