Helloooo,

I'm interested in card sharing.
Is there a tutorial somewhere ?

How card sharing works ?
How to configure it on a db 7000 with 120Gb HD ?
Is it works for s*ca 2 ?

THX in advance,
Stone

asaik there is no tutorial on cs.
in fact, all what you really need, is a card to share and join a group.
they will be happy to tell you how to setup things.

Card Sharing

I don't think there is a problem discussing the concept of cardsharing and how it is done in a LAN environment. The problem is when people start posting sites and keys, etc.

I have been experimenting with CS on a LAN, but have not been very successful with my IRDETO card. The NEWCAMD emulator provides for cardsharing parameters, but can someone tell me how the CI slot (and not the slot 1 and 2) on 7020s are identified?

AND YES I WISH THERE WAS AN IDIOT'S GUIDE TO SETTING UP CS FOR LAN

Don't forget that every CS system/program written will require things to be setup there way. So for specific guides you would need to now the software you want to use. Most should have some setup guide and info.

I think the basic idea of CS systems is the same.
1. You setup and run a CS Server. The server will need to have access to the card. The CS Server may not work with all types of cards and systems.
2. You setup a client and make a connection to the server (ensure all firewall rules are in place to allow the outbound and inbound data)
3. The clinet will need to connect to the STB. I would assume if you are using a Dream the client is running on the STB
- If you are using a PC as the client, you will need a season put into the stb card slot....

Thats the basic overview. any more detail will depend on the software and hardware you have.

You don't mean it:
Season = Spring, Summer, Autum, Winter
Card = Card
