We open a thread with some FAQ about our image.
This discussion will grow-up in time, by adding more topics as much as we can.



1. [Q]: I get the error "nc: connection refused" when I use the "servers", "users" and "providers" buttons on "SDT Advanced Infos" window on certain emus. Why?

2. [Q]: I can't see my card(s) subscription status on SDT Advanced Infos window.

3. [Q]: I did all the above, but still no infos

4. [Q]: How can I deactivate the Simple-Skin display, and have always Full-Skin on OSD?

5. [Q]: I get only the NFS option when mounting a device thru the "Mounts" panel, but no CIFS option

6. [Q]: My hard disk is not recognized at boot. Why?

7. [Q]: The plugin XXXX or YYYY does not work with latest DaVinci image, but working perfectly with old ones. Why?

[Q]: I get the error "nc: connection refused" when I use the "servers", "users" and "providers" buttons on "SDT Advanced Infos" window on certain emus. Why?

[A]: You must use DaVinci default values in your config files:

On newcamd.conf:
CWS_DEBUG_PORT = 12001

On cardserv.cfg:
DEBUG_PORT =12002
ENTITLEMENT_PORT = 12003

With the above, you will get complete infos about your card and client/server status.
DaVinci emus addons (available for download) are already set to the correct values.

[Q]: I can't see my card(s) subscription status on SDT Advanced Infos window.

[A]: You must click on "providers" button on SDT advanced window.
If it gives an error, check your "cardserv.cfg" config file, you must put there
ENTITLEMENT_PORT = 12003
Add the line if not already present, or edit the existing one with the above port value.
DaVinci emus addons (available for download) are already set to the correct values.

[Q]: I did all the above, but still no infos

[A]: make sure you have the right cardserv executable inside. There are many versions available, some original cards can't be read by the incorrect cardserv version.

[Q]: How can I deactivate the Simple-Skin display, and have always Full-Skin on OSD?

Go to
SDT boss panel -> Utilities -> Enigma Extra Setup -> OSD setup

(Shortcut: press BLUE button 3 times and you'll get into "Enigma Extra Setup" menu)

Uncheck the "Use Zapping Lite Skin", then press the save button (green).

[Q]: I get only the NFS option when mounting a device trhu the "Mounts" panel, but no CIFS option

You must download the CIFS addon via the Boss panel.
It's under "System" addons area.

[Q]: My hard disk is not recognized at boot. Why?

Probably you have an hard disk which was formatted with "reiserfs" filesystem.

Reiserfs support is optional on DaVinci:
you must download the "Reiserfs" addon (under "System" addons area).

After downloading and installing, reboot your dreambox and you'll have reiserfs installed.

Warning:
it's better to install reiserfs immediately after image installing, before moving /var to usb or hdd (in other words, before "place addons" procedure).

TIP:
Please consider formatting your hard disk with EXT3 filesystem in future.
EXT3 is recognized and mounted just by the kernel, and don't need any additional modules to be installed.
You know, memory space is really a big problem on dreambox, expecially on dm7000.

[Q]: The plugin XXXX or YYYY does not work with latest DaVinci image, but working perfectly with old ones. Why?

Plugins are EXTERNAL executables, compiled by each Author using the enigma headers included in CVS distribution.

So, when an Author compiles his plugin, he is using the enigma headers available at the moment of compiling.

But enigma headers are very often updated by DMM on CVS distribution, so if a new image comes out after the plugin's release date, maybe that plugin will no longer be compatible and need to be recompiled by the Author against latest CVS changes.

All to do in that case, is to wait a new release of the plugin to work with latest images.
