Pay TV is like commercial TV

I personally think pay tv ,is in the same boat as commercial tv, at least commercial tv is free to air,Pay TV has just as many adds,so many repeats, all at a ridiculouse cost, you have no choice in what you get with a basic package, what the say goes, thats it,cheaper to rent DVDs at least you can choose what you want, when you want, no adds, and if you need to grab a beer or feed or piss, its just a matter of hitting pause on the remote, then hitting play to resume.

Whats your thoughts

Rickie as I said in a previous post mate I do feel that a lot of the newbies to paytv who just signed up as a result of the publicity push will really experience just how un-exciting it is to pay for the priviledge of watching repeat after repeat. Personally I think they will alienate even more people. I have had a long held interest in traditional chinese history with the aim of learning Mandarin so my objectives are to chase after the Asian sats. The other stuff really is just for my wife. There are only a handful of channels that I would bother with. The rest are just crap. Watching Fox is just a pre-requisite course along the way to becoming a U.S. citizen. Consider it an examination of sorts.
