Mondo to list home video subsidiary
Italian cartoon producer Mondo TV will list its Mondo Home Entertainment subsidiary on the Italian small-cap Expandi exchange by end-'04. Mondo TV owns 90% of the video and DVD distributor, which was founded in '01. Mondo Home Entertainment, which distributes Mondo and third-party titles, had revenues of Euro2.5m ($2.9m) in 1H03.
BRB and Cinar settle dispute
A long-running lawsuit between Spanish animation outfit BRB and Canadian producer and distributor Cinar has been settled. The dispute centers on an alleged breach of contract relating to Cinar's purchase of C$78m (US$58m) of BRB shares. The Canadian company agreed to pay BRB C$450,000 by way of a final settlement. Cinar's new owners are also involved in a dispute with the company's co-founders (TVI Daily Nov. 3, 2003).
E! announces Dutch deal
E! Entertainment has formally announced a carriage deal with UPC Netherlands. The Hollywood centered news and entertainment channel is now carried on the cabler's basic digital tier. E! already has carriage on the Netherlands' other main cable systems.
