ok so what i need is for someone to tell me what l-band hardware will i need to get dat from the air

As far as i know Theres Asiastar at 105 east broadcasting on the L band
Its the Worldspace radio satellite.Then there's Optus mobilesat the satellite phone service on B3 and C1.

Dunno where you can buy L band stuff so to make it you could use the bare end of your coax put that where the lnb ought to be and point it at the sat.
Or another way is to put an empty baked bean can on the lnb arm poke a hole in the side and put a length of coax inside with 2cm of the centre conductor showing....
Remember sat decoders are already L band recievers the LNB downconverts the KU or C band signal to L band..
Maybe some amateur radio /tv operators might know more .
