Searching for signal on frequency 12438Mhz

trying to play with my sub card to make a goldie now my box is set and all it says is

"Searching for signal on frequency 12438Mhz"

the menus to change the frequency i'm sure are passworded and the signal strength reported by the box is 25 - 30 where it has been close to 100 usually...

help my box has changed config by the sounds of it cause my existing goldie dont work and shows the same error.

could some give me some advice I will confirm frequencies with someone else today to see what it says....

is there a standard password that FOX uses ?? any help would be appreciated.

cheers.

The state of your card has no bearing on your box receiving signal (which it obviously isnt).
Either it's a dish problem (mis-aligned, LNB is shot) or the wrong settings in your receiver - what is it (brand, model)?

the box is the....
Foxtel DSD700

on checking the settings on the box it is set to

Freq. 12438
Polar. Hor
SRate. 29473
FEC. 3/4
LNB is set to 1

i have checked everything and have found the pin i have even got as far as seeing the titles, (one where it says the show name and channel) by setting the LNB to 2 however when this happens it says that channels are scrambled ???

this is a little stuffed at the moment because it worked ok before i inserted another card and the satellite is tight installed by the fox techie...

any more help would be great cause my parents are getting pi$$ed...

thanks in advance...

If you can see the EPG (titles, whats on) then you have signal. That just leaves the card as the problem - what did you do to it and what error messages are you getting?

you most likely have a new type lnb, not the standard 11300 type, that's why the old pace won't get a signal.....

set the lnb to 2. put in the sub card and wait 10 minutes.

if still no picture, ring your provider. the gold card may have missed an update and may not work again without reprogramming it. remember it can take a while to get the plain keys updated.

you should read more before playing.....

pin is 9949.

guys, I dont think its his gold card particularly... I woke up this morning with the same problem.. cant get past the searching or waiting for nit aquisition, I also only have about 23 - 30% signal strength, used to have about 80 I think.

Im about to get on my roof to have a look at the gear.

It was working fine yesterday.

I have UEC720i I think.

Same settings described above, but no signal.

mightyboy.
