I dont think you have any hope of getting I701 with a 60cm dish. I am in sydney and use a 90cm and it's ok. I think I recall people saying you need at least a 1.2m in Melbourne.

Red face Re: I701 on ex tarbs dish?

for the i701 85 cm works fine in Melbourne.
I've tuned the position using the humax box. Signal strength=21%for pbs transponder. When i hookup the ex tarbs 3100stb, the signal starts fluctuating between 1% and 7%!. Anybody know why?

Re: I701 on ex tarbs dish?

Tuner on these 3100 is not sensitive enough and are shit, they don't like the Universal Lnb's and Wideband.
To get stable strength and Quality, use a standard 11.300 lnb and a 1.2m offset dish.

Cheers.

Re: I701 on ex tarbs dish?

For a while (many months ago) I had sound from the Nickelodeon channel on a Humax 5410Z, but no more.
Most of the channels in the PBS mux are MDS format & 'normally' can't be seen on a standard receiver.
Anyway did you get it going?
