Hi,
Dreambox7000 is made by Dreamedia which is completely different from NOKIA, SAGEM or PHILIPS.
Nokia has 2 different models Dbox and Dbox2. i recently bought a nokia dbox2 from ebay and i'm waiting for it next week.
Dreambox7000 can be equiped with HDD and USD port which makes more interesting than the others. Plus, Dreamedia has a better support.

Dbox 1 is an Irdeto1 cam equipped box for encrypted broadcasts in that format. It has been extensively modified with DVB2000 software for the receiver and Amon firmware for the cam. Although still capable of receiving DVB signals, and having a sensitive tuner, it is getting a bit long in the tooth nowadays, and cannot cope with variable symbol rates that some broadcasters now use.
Dbox2 models are closer to the DM5620 dreamboxes than Dbox 1 as they contain software based smartcard readers. The tuners in these models aren't up to much but the ability to be reprogrammed with a linux based operating system and run emulated cams make them very powerful.
The Dreambox 5620/7000/500 are a family that evolved from the independent work done with the DBox2, and adopted from the start the open architecture required by Linux. This means that enthusiasts had an open book to do what they wanted with a moderately powerful PowerPC based receiver. They are complicated, idiosyncratic, tempermental and a total waste of time for anyone who owns one. And I wouldn't swap my DM7000 for any other receiver!
Images are NOT transferrable between models. Don't even think about it unless you want to learn how to restore your bootloader.
