If you were to investigate some of the mushroom farms, which have multiple dishes (20-30) used for space reception, you'd find that that is exactly what they do.
My thoughts.......
Problem......phasing problems. Using 2 dishes receiving the same signal 180deg out of phase will result in zero output. Less than 180 will give reduced signal strength.
Note:- at 12.5Ghz wavelength is only 2.4cm, so an error of 1.2cm is 180deg.
Cure.........introduce variable delay-line on one dish, and adjust to bring signals into phase (max sig strength).
Or some mechanical adjuster to move one dish forwards/backwards.
Might also fix this by moving one LNB forwards/backwards.
Only my thoughts on this subject, so don't take this as gospel.
I could have it all ass-about.............
