infinity USB phoenix programmer probs

I have recently purchased the infinity USB phoenix programmer and have no problem using the software that came with the hardware. However when thrid party software is used such as FM card, Multiprog and Lmedit I get an error messages of data interrupted and no connection with the program. I have resintalled the drivers repeated without any success. I am usign the right cables and have no problems loading the eeprom and pic hex files using the phoenix software. Can anyone help me as I have become frustrated and am not sure why the error message keeps arising. Any help would be appreciated.

Regards

elvis

I also have a Infinity USB/phoenix programmer and can't get FM card or any other programmes to work on serial port, have tried 3 computers and 3 serial cords all running XP so let me know if you find out the problem.

I had the same problem and gave quantronics a call.Spoke to there tech and he suggested that the problem could be caused by using an old modem cable.I thought at the time what a load of crap.Anyway had a spare serial cable from a ups plugged the mother in, and quess what, it worked.

I have tried 3 serial straight cords and have ocx files installed but comes back with unable to open serial port or no hardware found on serial port. The correct serial port is selected and is in phoenix mode.

5 years after the original posts - and guess what - ive just bought a infinity usb pheonix and still have the exact problem as specified above.

the infinity software works fine - but when i try to use 3rd party software in pheonix mode it fails ... data interupted ....

so did anyone ever get a fix or find how to resolve this on xp?
