i I am now having problems with my elvis card that i purchased a few weeks ago,I have tried lots of different programs with no success,I have been using multiprog (latest version)to load pic, then fm card to load GEmerald personal,the program always gets an error or cant find programmer,this has happened with all programms that I have tried from downloading in the forums I am at my witts end Is there a possibility that elvis is faulty,I make sure that elvis is turned off and that I am using win98 all help appreciated.I have a 9v power supply 300ma supply its an old telstra power supply for a phone message recorder.

gday have you found a resolution yet .
i have the same problem have searched all the posts and downloaded all the files that people have recommended but cant get elvis to be found as you posted.
my com port works fine i tried my modem on it,
any help..

Yes I have,First thing is I am using win98 (ON DUEL SYSTEM)
1. Open multiprog (latest version)
2.Elvis must be turned off to load hex file.
3.Then incert card, load both hex files.
4.Have elvis control centre installed.
5.Exit multiprog,and make sure no other programming software is open.
6.Open FMcard then right click on elvis command centre (should be icon bottom right)select on and pheonix mode.
7.Then loAd your personal .CRD file. (BOBS YOUR UNCLE)

thanks for that i will have to make up a secondary boot partition.
i am running xp pro.
i will give this a try and go from there

k have tried that but still get to brick wall when elvis control to power on comes back with time out no programmer.
i have checked my comms port and on three other pc's i have run comms checker prog and port 100% but no responcefrom elvis.

If you didn't get anything on the DCE-2 line it could be caused by:

Wrong serial port selected "correct port selected"
Faulty cable or the programmer is not connected to your computer "Cable belled out pin for pin straight through"
Dead battery or bad power supply connected to the programmer.
"brand new lithium 9v batt reading 9.56vdc under load"
Serial port is faulty on your computer. "modem and serial mouse work fine"
You forgot to set the DTR signal active, the led must be on, otherwise the programmer is not active." when i select dtr on the led doesn't come on"
The programmer is faulty. " only choice left i think"
