New subtitle application...

Hi there,

I have written a subtitle application, very much inspired by bullz_text. But I did miss two features, namely True-Type fonts and better support for recorded movies (out of sync). It is very early in development but it would be nice with some people that could help me with testing.

Here is a short cut&paste from the features list:
- Using TrueType fonts for displaying, using one color with outline. (White text, black outline is default.)
- Detecting if playing a recorded file and in this case a "delay" is added to get the subtitles into sync. (The time of
this delay is controlled through the gSUB.conf file.)
- Avoid to display subtitles if any Enigma window is detected.
- Selectable language, tested with Swedish, Norwegian, Danish and Finish. Implemented German, but not tested as the developer
is based in Sweden.
- Selectable position of text to allow for 16:9 or 4:3 TV sets.
- Many settings are controllable through a file, gSUB.conf.

Please contact me: gruffypuffy1234 AT hotmail DOT com if you are interested in helping me out with beta testing!

All the best
Gruffy

Re: New subtitle application...

Why do you not just post it here? So everyone can test it

Re: New subtitle application...

A public beta will come as soon as I feel it is ready for that...trust me, I will not hold it in for long. Sorry if it disapoints you but I feel this is the best method for me to develop this application.

It will not work for 7025 from the beginning on as that is MIPS (and not PowerPC). I currently don't own a 7025 to test on. But I have got more requests for that and I will look into that some day.

Re: New subtitle application...

Do you add the Dutch language and a possibility to configure a teletext page per service.

I hope that you (or somone) will take the effort to port the application to a plugin for VLC so that we can have Subs over streaming to PC (Scandinavian market..)!

Lycka till
