mcfly is on a distinguished road
newcamd on i386

hi,

First off: I'm new to this forum.

Secondly i want to thank everybody involved in the development of newcamd ... it's simple a nice piece of software! respect
Although it seems it is mainly targeted towards non x86 platforms, I'm using it as an alternative to vdr-sc on a x86-based box.
I'm running a linux distro that is based on glibc 2.2. So I had some trouble recently to make newcamd.i386 work. As we all know newcamd.i386 is linked with glibc 2.3. Do i used a chroot-trick to make it work in with my distro, but it's more of a workaround. Ah yes, I'm talkin about v5.05.

So: Who actually develops newcamd ? is there a way to kindly ask the author to release a version linked with glibc 2.2? is there a forum dedicated to newcamd development? Or is there even a way to get the source code ?

thnx for your help in advance!

cheers,
mc fly

PS: if anybody is in the same situation (running a glibc 2.2 distro) feel free to contact me, i might help.
