EPG (SQL-Lite/epg.dat?)

Hi

I have a DM7020, 120GB hdd, 256mb udb pen and using PLI-Garnet img.

I have some questions about EPG,
What is the best solution to use SQL-lite or normal enigma EPG?
What is the fastest storrage way?

Is it possible to covert XMLTV into one off the files
epg.dat (enigma EPG)
epg.db (SQL-lite)

When I change channel, Now and next program shows up, but it seems that it takes som sec. befour it show up.
If I press EPG "red button" then I can see epg allreday in the epg file, why does it take som time to show up, do it read it from the stream?
It could be much faster if it was read direct from the epg filer or DB.

Happy newyears.

Re: EPG (SQL-Lite/epg.dat?)

The memory storage is of course faster than the SQLite database.
However, when you are watching several different bouquets and have a large number of days for EPG lookahead configured, there could be concern about the amount of memory used by the EPG storage.

With Flubber I had bad experience with SQLite storage. I tried to put it on USB stick, result the USB driver crashed after a couple of hours and the box needed reboot. Then I put it on an NFS-mounted server disk, result the NFS hung and box needed reboot. Probably it will work on HD but that will keep the HD running all the time.
So I set the EPG lookahead to 2 days in the settings, and use memory storage. It looks like it works OK. I always get immediate EPG when pressing RED button.
(but not when pressing down arrow and looking in the favorites list; this info apparently is separate from EPG. this is proven by the fact that the info in that list is sometimes different from the info in EPG)

but with the Garnet image, you can put the epg file in usb or in the card choosing between sqlite filing system or standard one, isn't it???
