Pay TV till March

There are so many threads on Sat-Industry.net which is a tribute of how great this web forum is.

As a newbie this is what I know

About 2 years ago I received an email advertising free pay TV. At the time I already had a subscription to Foxtel. I send away for the HUMAX set top box and a Smart card. I unsubscribed from foxtel and they took my foxtel box and card away. I installed the HUMAX with the smart card and it worked fine. I always left the box on so the card would receive the updates; this process has worked up until now.

I don’t know what types or smart cards there are but my brother has one with a picture and a red circle with a box around it (maybe an open platform card), I have a smart card with is a plain gold colour, maybe this is what you call a gold card? I have had all channels and main events up till now.

Foxtel recently say they are updating their systems, and now my card is invalid, it says the card has no rights for this service. I tried my brothers (open platform) card and I can again watch everything. Maybe Foxtel have disabled my type of card or all cards programmed the same way.

Can anyone tell me or link me to the difference between my brothers and my smart cards.

I know a lot of people in these forums complain about newbies not searching through the site, but in all honesty I have no idea what to look for.

By the way i have all the updated frequencies, and i can still get chanells that are not hosted by Foxtel and Austar like Sky channels, this brings me to the conclusion that foxtel have voided my card but not my brothers.

OK ...you dont really wanna know anything about satellite tv you just want your card back...If you did wanna know you would actually read the threads in the forum starting with the newbie section that you posted in.

Next.... your brothers card will also go down shortly...when is anyones guess but it will. You need to go and get yourself a subscription or you will be watching a blank screen for a long time

more than likely your goldie was a sellers card,guess what?its dead and theres nothing you can do about it,free pay tv,sorry ive not heard of that provider as of yet,give Foxtel or Austar a ring im sure they will give you PAY TV

you know what your right, i do want a new card, and why cant you help me out?

Why does everyone say subscribe? Cant someone point me in the right direction to get a new card? Even if it is only till march.

What is a sellers card?

Why don't you go to the guy that you got your first card from and ask him to sell you another one, as you will not get the help you are looking for on this forum, as people here are against sellers in any form.

"subscriber" a legit subscription with either foxtel or austar....sorry but read the rules....btw for our overseas vistitors this is an aussie related question....btw mitirx you are skating on very thin ice...stop asking and start reading

nowhere in this forum is there a post which teaches newbs how to program a smart card to allow foxtel channels to be recieved. Now i am asking how to program a smart card to do more than my foxtel card by giving me every channel and main event?

What is the best way to do it? Manbe i could clone my brothers card, what would i need. If i shouldent be talking about this here than where?

go to the tutorial section and start reading its all there,,,,you are starting to get on peoples nerves
