Cool newbee seakin info

hi there all.....yes i am a newbee and i have a few questions some might find boring but please take it all on board.....:)
i am a proud owner of 2 defunked pace 400 decoders, who more over has stopped sat connection to A****R group after 3 years faithfully payments...i have tried twice to use a gold card ...with one lasting a week and the supplier went to the unknown! and another card which clocked up more travel than me goin to be reprogrammed with a longest use time of 3 weeks.
now i have read this sites forums and others and i know some info but not the nitty gritty.... i like to fix this up now quickly and i would welcome simple direct facts...without the cover of humour! it tends to distort the facts from being picked up by us newbee's
will the ""hobby"" be worth while in 6months time/12months time/2years time.......when i read posts that say "when the pay sat ppl change codes that will sort ppl out" so before i get sorted out of pocket...lets have a informative for aussies who have my position as a example...sat dish set up and hard cabled purchase pending of a decoder (with dual slot/hard drive maybe/free to air capable)allcammed box with later the purchase of a digital lnb in 2003-6 maybe....
will it be worth there while to buy a logger and piccard writer and cable to connect to the computer and a gold wafer or 2 on top off the above....to be in the hobby the full way!
sure there is software...help....computer...and other things to get right....but will a newbee starter goin to get a great reward from his or her new found hobby if started now...consider the outlay to get to this point and we have to find a source for making the card and learn all thats needed to learn to do this well:)
i am a little thrown off by what i read in posts...i get 3 steps forward 2 steps back...so as a newbee thats permitted!
i am more than willing to put in hard yards in the learning bracket....so long as the info is goin to be really useful and not confussing....BUT FIRST i like to know is this a long term hobby..
will real info help be given as well...i have learnt the dark side of the pirate card if your the buyer sucks!
i dont plan to be making cards for everyone...i would help anyone to get there too!i like to pass on good advise!
i welcome any postive feedback and help...which is direct factual and true....
>>>>>>>>but first is this worth starting now????????
>>>>>>>>i like aussies to tell me the local home story??????
>>>>>>>>then i like to know the rest.......:)
many thanks all
trust me after all i read i am so confussed now its not funny

I would say that the first step is all about becoming a faithful subscriber again, the prob with this is that you more than likely end up with chucky and titan.
I have been bit by a seller 2 thats what started me off but i always kept my sub because they can't be trusted in the norm. Anyway I learnt how to reprog his goldie and now I am gettin better and more adventerous even got a strong 4800II.
Anyway get a sub and the guys on the board might help out more.

Thumbs up a reply to maxim

hi maxim....i have taken onboard your comments...
i have taken some of your great plan and twisted it a little...
i goin to ask all my close near by neigbours who have a sat dish sitting there goin idle......to go halves or thirds or quarters or something simular......with a full blown a****r connection
YES a FAITHFULL SUB AGAIN....that way we could all share the cost to $80 a month divided by X people.....:)
OR if someone has one close by offer to go halves etc!!!

in this case i wont have the sub box here!
i be paying towards services ...

now this great plan will only work if i can find ppl interested in this concept!
it redues cost and keeps a very close network..
i have re read a lot of posts a specific to boxes....
and i so far favour humax.....what model...i not really 100% on...
in reguards to your comment do this and ppl will help you i hope your right......
so far i have got no direct help as yet...
maybe some might have thought my newbee comments a bit rough but if read my first post you will see >>FEAR of not knowing what to do!
>>>>>>>>Fustration in having read and still not being sure!
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> AND KEENESS to get started!!
without blowing a lot of money...
many thanks maxim

Cool reply to ding70

hi ding70......
i have clicked and gone through that page and few others
i am still a bit worried on the future aspect of the ""hobby"
and the great reading.....is where i got that feeling from!
i have picked up that there are a few boxes of choice...
humax have a cost and local support here in aussie...and seem to have the bases covered in the cam issue...and coding changes..and also have a free to air sat channels often pre programmed in...and the mid range ones have dual slots and pvr
of course ..... can nearly find a brand and model in everything around that does that and the difference is the price you pay and choice....
not bad info from the posts thus far!
if i have got this wrong in any way please fell free to tell me!
as i go through the maze of info posts i will b e confirming what i dont get ....or what i find confussing to me!
i am not affraid to ask questions....
and i think the ones i ask will be ones others wanted to but thought hell they will think i am a numbat if i ask that one!
but the only dum question is the one you dont ask!
so thanks ding70 get ready for a work load :)
as i step by step this hobby

the best advice for you is get your own subcription and dont share anything,if you do so more reading you will see that wafer cards wont be worth a pinch of rabbit sh.t later as you cant extract infor out of the new sub cards, and i would say anyone subcribing now to austar would get the new chucky card.

Angry reply to kev

hi kev....
that is the info i find very disturbing.....because it says this!
and i want all NEWBEES to read this !!!
if you are a current pay tv sub now.....or are goin to be one in the near future.........the following will be happening......

new encrpytion!!!

that means everything done in wafer from the old is USELESS!
if not now it soon will be!!!

SO.....

if you want to be a newbee get paid for sub....thats goin to get you a new card to hobby from for your 2nd box 3 rd box etc etc

Have i got this 100% kev!!
