Dumping Smartcard

Hi there,
I have a laptop with a HP smart card reader in it, and i was thinking it could be possible to dump the entire contents of the smartcard on the laptop to a file, and then somehow emulate that card on the other computer with the tuner card? What software would be required for each of these steps?

The smartcard is NDS and i hopefully will eventually get it working with NDScam.
Also just simply plugging it in, reading it and dumping it wont change anything on it or damage it in any way? I want to be able to put it back in the STB if ndscam fails.

The day you'll do that you'll have the whole NDS crew on your doorstep.

So from that i assume it isnt possible?

I was thinking of doing it like a daemon tools style thing, but for a smartcard instead. Would mean i dont have to go and find a compatible smart card reader.

So what smart card tools are there? I had a look in the files section but the names (like ggedit) dont describe what they do.
