dreambox DM 500s help

i m new here in that channel and i bought the D 500s
i really dont no how to use the dreambox bec i dont have any experience with it so plz can any one help me that how this thing work and how to install the image and where from i can get the softwares so plz help me to find out how this work i be verythankfull

Sorry... what I don't understand is WHY does someone buy something not knowing what it is and what it is used for?

The DM500 is a Multimedia box. The "S" stands for satellite so it can receive satellite signals.
Standard firmware allows you to watch Free To Air channels and channels encrypted with DreamCrypt / FireCrypt system smartcard in the cardreader slot.
You can record to your PC's harddrive using the network and the equivalent configuration in the setup menu.
Freely available aftermarket software plugins can be installed to read RSS text or surf the web with a web browser.... and much much more!

Just read here before asking again..... it will take many hours but by reading you will learn a lot about your new box!

There's a newbies guide in pdf format on dreamboxfornewbies.org website. I would be worthwhile to read that first and then many of your questions will be answered.

search around the net and get dreambox control centre,flashwizardpro,dreamup for a 500s and get or make your self a null modem cable .cost a couple of quid off ebay..get the latest version of gemini i think its 2.4 and well start come back to me when youve got all of this ill talk you throuigh a bit at a time..rocketronnie,,
