Jaycar Programmer

Hi ,
I'm transfering this question to the newbie section as it seems
to have more traffic here .

Is there a check apart from the bleeding obvious that you can do with the $30 Jarcar programmer to see if it is working ? I don't have sat , just cable and decided to make this cheap programmer just for interest sake and play around with a goldie . There is a 1 minute check they suggest which seems OK to check voltages.I'm using a Digitor multi plug pack from 3 to 12 V with 300mA max .It's a $20 cheapie from Tandy. I'm using it at 9 Volts . Even checked my connection cable to make sure all 9 pins OK . Trouble is FM Card just gives me card error . Get a flicker from the red LED to give me hope. IC Prog gives me resetting card failed . Pic side of things on my JDM seems fine .

Any ideas ?

with the jaycar progrmmers you need to buy two prorgamers if you want to program a goldie because one only programs the pic and the other programs the epprom. talk to your jaycar sales man he told what i needed and how to sort it out.

Programming the PIC side is no problem with my JDM . Epprom is whats giving me grief !
