There arent dual LNBs, there are only dual feeds for C/ku in which you must put separate LNBs for the 2 bands. The better known system for this is named corrotor (by Chapparal, Astrotel and others) and unfortunatelly dont performs very well in ku band, but if you have a mesh dish your gain in ku band is lower even without a corrotor (lets say that your dish performs as a 1.8m dish or less in ku band)

There ARE dual band LNBs ! Have a look for the ASPEN TURBO 4200, a google might work.

I use the Chaparral on a solid 2M dish. For the old-skool guys, its a dual Ku/C band. The only problem is that the Dreambox doesnt control the Polarity Servo..... I had to build an adapter to control Vertical/Horizontal servo. I use a California Amplfier LNB and a Chaparral C-Band LNA.. works nicely for me.

Hi micro flyer, I have the same problem with vert and horiz switching with my dreambox. They are controlled by a servo which is changed using another sat box with a build in positioner. I would like the db to do the switching, What kind of adaptor are you using?
Thanks in advance.

Thanks in advance.

I built a crude voltage sensor and used an ATMEL AVR processor to make a pulse-width modulator. I will do a diagram and publish the source code for the controller this weekend.
If you are handy with electronics, it will take about an hour to build ;-)

I have found a link for this dual LNB here http://satthai.net/th/lnb_large.htm
but in technical description I see only one oscillator for ku band (10.750), so it cannot receive the lower ku band frequencies. In plus the performances in ku band are very poor, accordind to some forums that I found about this subject on altavista (curiously google didnt gave me good results!")

Take a look at Chaparral. I use the co-rotor with a California Amp Universal Ku LNB. It has both high and low band.
