Here you go.

things you need:
1. a serial cable - to connect the DB serial port to the serial port in yur PC
2. a cross over RJ45 - to connect the DB to your ethernet card in PC

1. Go to Start->Settings-> Network and Dial up Settings and open the local area connections
2. Open the TCP/IP properties and yu need to put in the IP address
3. For eg. Ip add: 10.0.0.10, subnet 255.0.0.0 and gateway 10.0.0.244
and enable the LAN connection

thsi in DB

1. Go to setup, connection and communication
2. Give the DBox ip address 10.0.0.97, subnet 255.0.0.0 and gateway 10.0.0.10
3. click on LAn or connect network.

now yu can ping the DBox from yur PC.
Power down yur Dbox.

Now you need the Dreamup software and put in the Dreambox ip and PC ip and click connect

Now yu'll see the connection being established.

Cheers
