NTL Cable tv box and Belkin Wireless Cable Gateway Router

I am using a Belkin Wireless Cable Gateway Router connected to a NTL cable tv box and everything is working fine with a wireless connection from my wireless enabled laptop (internet, email etc). I am now trying to connect the dreambox to the Belkin Wireless Cable Gateway Router through one of the hard cable connections ports on the rear of the hub, but I have not been able to get anywhere with setting up the connection. I have asked this question a couple of days ago but forgot to mention the cable tv box part.

when I enter the HOME PAGE of the Belkin router I am given the following information;

LAN Settings;
IP Address: 192.168.2.1.
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0.
DHCP Server: Enabled

Internet Settings; ( I think these may be the NTL's Cable TV box settings)
Connection Type: Dynamic.
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0.
WAN IP: xx.xxx.xxx.xx.
Default Gateway: xx.xxx.xxx.x.
DNS Address: xxx.xxx.x.xxx

Features;
NAT: Enable.
Firewall Settings: Enable.
SSID: belkin54g.
Encryption: Disable

when I enter the LAN SETTINGS page of the Belkin router I am given the following information;

IP Address: 192.168.2.1.
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0.
DHCP Server: on.
IP Pool Starting Address: 192.168.2.2.
IP Pool Ending Address: 192.168.2.100.
Lease Time: Forever
Local Domain Name: Belkin

My question is what do I enter into the dreambox communication setup page;
IP: 192.168.2.24. (when I enter this number I can ping the dreambox from my laptop)
Netmask: 255.255.255.0.
Type: LAN
Nameserver: 192.168.2.1.
Gateway: 192.168.2.1.
Configure Network: X
Port: 80

with the above settings I can ping the dreambox from my laptop but if I try to attempt an internet - software update, I get the message "Can't resolve host name".
Also if I attempt an ftp connection using the ip connection from above (192.168.2.24) then I get an error "! Receive error: Blocking call cancelled.

I would appreciate any help anyone can give me.

Many thanks in advance.

I had a similar problem with a different router caused by using DHCP. The way I got round it was to give static IP addresses to everything on the network, my PC's and obviously the dreambox. This speeded all communications up and cured the problem. Your router should have some DHCP settings menu somewhere, change the IP pool start address and end address so that they do not include whatever numbers you assigned to your kit on the network.
