What i have learnt so far about the dream box, what have i missed out.

I have been reading the tuts and info about the dream box before rushing out and buying them and asking 100000 questions without reading tuts.
so he goes what i learnt and can you please tell me what i have missed out. reguarding my area for getting dodgtel on my dream box. i own a sub card to them and i own a programmer and i know howto make a goldie and get the details off cards.

so here goes.

When you first get you dream box you download the latest .xml sat for your decoder and upload it as instructions permit.

Then you flash you dream box and upload a travler image which contains g box.

You configure gbox then you download keytemples and edit the one for encryption and edit it and upload it into the dream box.
then its working.

wrong / right for what i am trying to do.
also i will be getting a 120gig hd for it.

if you flash after you update the satellites.xml file in the Dreambox, you will loose it again (overwrite it by flashing).

If you buy your Dreambox from the Australian Dreamdealer network, your box should have been pre-configured and the right satellites.xml file should be in the image!
Same applies for the Team OZ autosatxml plugin....

I suggest to get used to the toy with your sub card and a CI and once you are familiar with all features start playing with other images; at least you know what you're doing then

yeah by the sounds of it a cam is pretty much useless if i can do it cardless or run off the gold card. waste of 200$ in my terms.

you might be right for now.... but what about next year? Not too long and you won't have any working card details

i own my own subcard so my details will always be correct . i will fork out the money next year just at the moment i dont want to spend that much more.
