one question for the experts.

hi ,ive got db set up with pc and crossover cable.ping is fine firewall is off.
im using leech fpt.this is the message i get HERE COMES THE DIRECTORY LIST. then after a while it times out. now dream edit works fine i get a list of all chanels on dreambox. i uninstalled leech and reinstalled it but no good.
can anybody figure that out.

why us leech why not try Total Commander
you might find it easyier

i did that!
that is if you just want to do simple file transfer from drembox to pc
or pc to dreambox

note: you have to setup login and password
When asked for a login, it's root and the password is dreambox

i am a new dreamer but got allot out of my dreambox 7000 allready

for file transfer drembox will look for root and dreambox remeber this might be the same for leech hope this is some help

i know about the pasword and all that, the thins is that dreambox edit works fine connects and gets the chanel list. i tried 2 other fpt and they wont work. leech worked once i got a list of all files.

I think you have the worst luck of any dreamboxer in the forums. Absolutely nothing works for you! To make matters worse you hardly ever post enough information for someone to help you, which could cause people to think that you don't do any actual investigation (ie. search and read) before posting your problem.

Try this:

1. See if telnet works. If it does then find out how much free flash memory you have. Maybe you have loaded too much stuff and ftpd can't run properly - maybe you simply need a flash erase.

2. If your memory is ok then try the basic windows ftp client.

3. If all else fails then flash a new original image and try again, following correct flash erase procedures. Think about installing hydra, or gemini, or whatever, after you get the basic stuff working.

Now the 64 dollar question. Do you reply asking how to use telnet and windows ftp, do you start another thread for same, or do you find out yourself?

first i have db7000s. tried telnet ,get BUISY BOX, cant use that.i tried instaling a new image ,hydra 109. instaled correctly. still no good..all i get is . 200 AS11 TASTED BAD BUDE. 150 HERE COMES THE DIRECTORY LIST ,then times out after 2 minutes. i cant make it any more simpler than that.and i do read all poasts, but i havent seen anything like this before.

Delete all unnecessay emus and plugins. If it still does not work, use DCC (dreambox control centre) for ftp. What are you trying to install ?

Go into Norton firewall program (Click on N.I.S. icon/ Personal Firewall/configure/home networking) and add the IP address for your dreambox as a trusted zone entry.
