Question have 2 DB7000 boxes at tha same place and be able to change channel on one reciver...

Hi!

Does anyone know if it´s possible to have 2 DB7000 boxes at tha same place and be able to change channel on one reciver witout both changing at the same time?

Ex.)
Box 1- Lets say it on Channel 1
Box 2- Lets say it on Channel 2

I want to pick up the remote to Box2 and change it to channel 4 WITHOUT having Box1 changing channel also.

Later i want to change Box1 to channel 3 with it´s remote control also WITOUT Box2 changing channel.

Does anyone know if this is possible???

unless you can put them far enoung apart, i think it would take a change in the remotes software to make it's key strokes send a different signal, or a different remote and changing of the software on the DB to pick it up. Another idea maybe to use a pocket pc or something with a web interface.....

my 2 cents......

Use your web browser

You can start up your Explorer or the browser in DreamBox Control Center and connect to your box via it's IP address and change channels.

It may be a basic response, but you could try:

Positioning the boxes with the front panels 90 degrees front each other. And place a seperator between the two.

Then to change box 1, aim your remote to bounce off the nearest wall to box 1 to change that channel, and like wise with box 2.

Or purchase a remote extender kit (this sends the IR signals from a RX sensor to a seperate IR Transmitting LED), and place the transmitting LED of the extender kit directly infront of your 7000 remote sensor, and shield any outside IR with a black cloth of such.

Then place the IR receiver in a location that won't pick up your other boxes IR. ie: on the other side of the room, or at nearest wall to your favourite chair.

Therefore to control box 1, aim at boxes. And Box 2 aim at extender.

Another problem is :
Do you have 2 dishes or one ?
When changing disecq, polarity or even frequency on one Dreambox, by choosing a different channel for example, it will surely freeze image on the other one...
