you can't move a var, dm500 dont' have a usb port.

About DM7000 image:
Currently i think is better to not install the working image in flash.
My preferred solution is to have in flash a minimal cvs image and my working images in USB multiboot. In this way i can modify all the image directories of my dreambox whitout any problem, i can change boot files, logos and all that i want whitout any risk.
The images performances are the same, and the flash of my dreambox is preserved for a long life. And there is another advantage.
When i remove my usb, there is nothing in the dreambox. Only an empty image in flash ;-)
