Frequency changes

I know that frequency changes for the new satellite have been covered before but i just one or two general questions.
after you rescan your channels and then later lose some again,do you just rescan using the same frequencies again?
and
how exact do the frequencies need to be,like,
if i scanned on say 12690 instead of 12688 would i be likely to get any results?
forgive me my inexperience and any help is greatly apreciated

Freq changes in a humax

In my 5410 all I do is a auto scan using:
29473 and 30000

It scans all freq then you just manually delete unwanted channels.

No need to know the exact frequencies this way but it takes a few hours(?) to scan compared to minutes if you know the freq.

check out www.ricksgadgets.com it has a guide on how to do it.

I did an auto scan once, never doing that again! I was hoping to pick ups ome obscure, unknown freqs but was just a waste of a few hours. Don't really recommend unless your in a situation where you are stuck

If you are really stuck and can't find the latest freqs then lyngsat will have the latest updates for you! Those guys are on the ball! Actually i should say that the guys who contact them with the updates are on the ball!

We are pretty sharp here 2 you know

If you want TV-1 back at channel number one ect, then use 12689 instead of 12438
Then once you have saved those channels back to the same spot and this time
12405
Vert
30000
2/3
then save those channels and again back to the same spot
12366
Vert
30000
2/3

You gotta love a UPS
We get plenty of power outs here, so the ups powers the logging pc.
