How to reset PIN on 5400Z?

Hi, I've searched through the threads but haven't found an answer to this, so here goes:

The default pin on a 5400Z is 0000. When I enter 0000 is just blanks the pin entry as if it is the wrong pin code.

I know I didn't change it, but no one else is owning up to it either!

I bought it from ******** so rang them, but their answer is to bring the box in and they will wipe it via PC and reset everything. Not very convenient.

I rang Sciteq in W.A. whom ******** told me were the distributors for Humax. The guy there told me there was a way to reset the pin without connecting to a PC and resetting everything, but this info is only given to distributors.

I assume a certain combination of keys pressed on the remote will reset the pin. Does anyone know how?

Do a search for humbox 4.1 ... get a null modem cable ... not very expensive ..

The only post I could find was 'HUMBOX 4.1, Download error??', which doesn't seem to answer this problem

Any other suggestions?

Try this...

Humax Hidden Menus
To reach a 'manufacturer' hidden menu, in the STB Status menu, press

[red] [green][yellow] [blue] [white] then select one of the following options

0 - Reset pin Number
1 - Loader Download
2 - Application download
3 - Eeprom data download
4 - Channel data download

A dialog box confirming the selected option should now appear.

I have also heard that the following will reset EVERYTHING on the hummy try the following [Mute],[3],[7],[1],[7],[5]

It worked - Thanks ScooterPig! You really got me out of a bind.

BTW, for the benefit of anyone else that needs to do this, this is exactly what worked for me: I had to press the key combination, as outlined in the previous post, within the STB Status screen, not the STB Status Menu.

When the keys were pressed one after the other (not simultaneously) then the 0 key pressed, no menu comes up, I just got a confirmation message that the PIN had been reset.

Thanks scooterpig, you just saved me a 20 km trip with my humax box, and $40 to get the pin number reset. Why couldn't the guy on the phone tell me that yesterday, and saved me a lot of headache. ( The $40 had something to do with it, I guess)

Hello scoter pig, i saw the earlier post you sent and it was increduble.Well i have with me here my humax irci5400z and my printed copy of sat codes and keys but all i need now is what to press in order to reach any hidden menu which will allow me insert the sat codes.Thanks
