Pace DGT400 Firmware

Hi does someone have an earlier version of firmware for the old Pace DGT400? Mine still works fine but i have one that was online when the upgrade was done, so i want to un-upgrade it and protect it.
Cheers All

knuts2au,
If you have a pace that still works with all channels........which I doubt, I'd leave it alone.

If your trying to go back to an earlier firmaware version than the one you have, it is not easily possible, you can't just TEMU it on, basically you have to remove, and install a new eeprom, not easy, especially with surface mounted components, and then you have to find someone that can actually do the programming anyway.

And just to put another nail in the coffin, as far as I can tell Pace decoders will not work soon.........at all.......anyway.

Pace box

Yep, still works fine, it was offline when the firmware upgrade was downloaded and i did the mod to prevent it being upgraded before i put it back on. You should be able to do firmware upgrades (downgrades) via the RS232 port.

So what version are you running now ?? there has been no new firmware for a DGT400 since L-160 which is about 2 years old, there will be no new firmware for these decoders as they are no longer used, they will not work in this country (as far as I can tell) once the new system is completly changeover.

If you are running say L140 in this decoder, I would suggest you leave it alone.

You can't do a firmware downgrade in any other way apart from removable of the chip, end of the lesson, sorry

Pace box

Sounds like i'm barking up the wrong tree! What was upgraded via satelite to make the pace boxs unusable, and why can't they be downgraded to work again? I modded mine to prevent upgrades being taken and it is still working fine. Can't seem to find anywhere to tell me what version it is.
Cheers

First you need to download L140 zip.
Unzip to a new folder, eg “c pace”
You then need to reboot PC in dos mode (Win98se or ME is best)
At dos prompt type “c:” then enter
Then type “cd\pace” then enter
The type “140” then enter
Now you should have the screen up, connect your pace from com1 on pc to 9 pin plug on back of pace then power up pace upgrade will start automatically the proccess takes about 10 mins to complete
That’s about it, hook up to tv and see if upgrade worked
Hope this helps

Pace F/W downgrade

Tried the downgrade on my old pace for an experiment.
Didn't work.
Out of curiosity any one tried the L140 firmware downgrade ?

Unless I used the wrong sort of comms cable, mine was a standard modem cable.
It did communicate with the pace , but up/downgrade didn't take.
