reading through the forum i have tried to update the firmware with no result as i am getting an external error message as soon as the downloading begins
does anyone know why i am getting this and can i fix it
has allcamming the box caused this problem

Allcamming it will not have affected it. Are you using the correct cable (null modem)?

i'm 100% sure that i'm using an null modem cable

I had the same problem, it seems my old trusty null modem didnt have 1=6 to 4 and vice versa. So I soldered up a new one, and the firmware reload definately works. It took a while for the emk to come thru tho, about half an hour.

when you are attemtping the upgrade does "E-O1" flash on the lcd on your STB. If it does then it means(according to topfield Korea) that a problem lies with one of the following:
1. Cable
2. PC
3. STB UART port
Test these individually. I had the same problem. Hope this helps.
