Diseqc Question?

QMAX minitype 4x1
frequescyrange - 900-2400 MHz
insertion loss - 3db
power passing - 500mA max

i have a diseqc in my possesion and i wish to use it im running a humax 5400, and i wish to connect it to my B3 dish, and my Asiasat2 dish, is this accoplishable, the diseqc i have is a QMAX minitype frequency range - 900 to 2400 MHz. Is it going to be a problem becasue B3 is Qu and Asiasat2 is C band? if not what does the frequency range mean in this case. i know i need to set my hummie to frequency 5150 for asiasat2 and 12407 for b3. both of these do not lie in that range does this mean i cannot use it?

Yes it will work the frequency quoted for the switch is the IFL frequency.
That is the Inter Facility Link frequency.
How it works is like this most LNB's have a local oscillator frequency of 11.3GHZ for KU (not QU) Band
There fore if your downlink frequency is say 12.438GHZ
12.438-11.3=1.138GHZ 8O 8O 8O
Which is well within the range of the swtich.
This also applies with C Band as well, the only difference being the LO frequency of the LNB (Low Noise Blocking Down Converter).
Simple EH

thanks for your help, and sorry about the qu (typo), anyway i tried it and it worked, excellent but i more thing how did you know that the downlink freqency is 12.483. where can i obtain this information from?

also

now that i have my hummie running both of those satellites, via the diseqc. can i split that signal and connect it to 2 recievers (humax) ?
what would happen if one hummie is using B3 and the other is using Asiasat2.

or would i need to split the signal before the diseqc on each dish then connect a diseqc per reciever?

The first metod u proposed is the best.
Use either receiver to provide power to the LND and use a splitter with a DC block on one side then if ya are watching B3 both receivers will work if u switch to C band the other receiver will drop out this is the best method.
The other way becomes compilcated and if u have both receivers powering the LNB the LNB will self destruct.

how do i specify which reciever powers the lnb?
also, what if i only want to split the B3 signal before the diseqc, would this make it easier?

Use the decoder u are going to use on both sats as the one that powers the LNB.
The other option is to get a dual output LNB
