OT Satellite Internet
Hi All ...sorry for the off topic post but I thought that you guys may be able to answer what (for me) is a bit of a curly one.
I have an existing (one way) Satellite internet connection working on a PC with a SkyMedia 200d card and have just purchased a second (one way) Satellite internet connection in another PC which works with a pentamedia card. The intention is to run BOTH these systems together with a spllitter.... I understand that I need to isolate the LNB voltage from ONE of these cards else blow up the LNB.....
MY PROBLEM....
The new box works fine at my ISP's workshop (its been there twice) but when bringing it home and connecting it to my existing LNB and dish it will not lock the satellite and no signal appears to be reaching the Pentamedia card yet take the lead out and plug it into the Skymedia card and it is fine ..... LNB power from the card is definately ON
I have checked (and double checked) the connections ....I have changed leads and have reached the end of my abilities ....the only thing I can think of is for some reason the LNB I have (I dont know what TYPE without getting on the roof) will not work with the Pentamedia card althoughj my understanding was that they were pretty well standard electrically
Can anyone shed any light?
Help would be greatly appreciated
Regards
KillJoy
