ABS 8776 Download Error

It appears to be having problems downloading, the messages are

Digital Satelite Receiver Loader V3

ST15500 Memory: ROM 4064K

Download Sources:

Serial Port: Not Connected
Satelite: Download Not Found
User Forced: Not Executed

Checking Decoder Code.

then it resets and trys again, is there anything I could do to fix this?

This box was sitting in a cuppoard for 12 months as the person who had it had left it there when he moved out.

Also I cannot access the setup menu because it just resets

There have been a few upgrades to adb boxes over the past 12mths.

They have been saying that if you dont leave the decoder on for the updates then it wont boot.

Dunno, but this could be the prob.

the bit you posted about your box is right they all load like that, are you running a splitter?and no there is no software you can download, only Austar have the power to do that, does it show scan on the red screen on the box,if so click the exit button on remote, then quickly press menu and right arrow button, you should then be able to access the setup

in what you call a splitter, you mean a splitter to split the cable from the dish, yes it has one of them.

It also states ram: 4096

no red screen, clicking the exit button does not do anything except make the green led on the front of the box flash, can't seem to get into the menu at all

What if I leave it on for some time, will it update eventualy or just keep doing the loop?

Don't know if it is realy worth it as after 1/1 I have been told I will not be able to use it anyway.

the biggest problem with this situation is the boxes are lookin for a transponder thats been switched off now...and hence they will not be able to upgrade even if it was available...its kinda clever in a way as it will kill a large number of boxes that have dissapeared as such

ZBEE just a curios question,if the abs boxes are looking for the transponder,as you said has been turned off,how come a non subscriber box is still able to work,is it because you can programme the freqs in yourself?
