Topfield scrambled with working subbie or goldie

I to have a Topfield 3200 IR and have lost a couple of channels.
Anyone else other than OzNexus & I have problem with 3200 IR?

I can confirm that the firmware upgrade for the Topfield definately works. Thanks Nokia_Rulez and Rasputin.

The only problem is that with the downloader program the com 2 setup definately does not work and seems to have a bug . So stick to com 1 only. If your serial port is on com 2 as mine was you will either need to use another PC (laptop) or change the com 1 and com 2 cards around if they are plug in type cards and not bulit into the motherboard.
Otherwise the program is pretty simple to use. Just turn on the STB after you have started the download process.

For those of you still having trouble finding a null modem; It is better known as a serial communications cable. In fact it is just a cross-over serial cable as many of you have alluded to. If you can't be bothered making one, I got mine at Jaycar. It was about $16, as the only one they had supported 9 and 25 pin.

However; with the new firmware, I am experiencing problems after I come out of the installation mode. I can't get any channels and I need to reset the STB to fix it. Is anyone else experiencing this?

Whilst on the subject of Topfield. I bought an allcammed unit. Does anyone know if this upgrade was a firmware upgrade or chip-mod and it it was a firmware upgrade, whether the new firmware has killed the "all-camming"

I also have lost 3 channels to E34 error message....
on my toppie 3200ir......


I would say there is lots out there......
with e34 error messages for 3 channels on toppie 3200ir....

I'll post another e-mail to topfield-korea and see what they have to say in relation to what you are requesting. I sent an e-mail to them last week requesting information on error messages and they were fairly quick to reply. Hopefully they will respond again.

Unfortunately, my topfield has died again and I am unable to get the system up again. It's OK with the non pay tv channels, but the others have died. I've tried to reload the new firmware, but without success. Any one got any ideas?

I can say that the firmware reload definately worked for me, after I made a null modem cable as described previously. The one I had bought years ago didnt have 1+6 to 4 and vice versa. maybe that was why my old cable wouldnt work.
