Topfield 3000 CI Pro Problem

I have a Topfield 3000 CI Pro. Every so often the sub-titles (for the deaf) come on for no reason. It's a bloody nuisance. If I've recorded something and they've been on during the taping, it interferes with the enjoyment.

Does anyone know how to permanently disable the feature? I tried going into setup and changing the sub-title language to Norwegian, hoping that since Norwegian sub-titles weren't available, it wouldn't appear, but no luck. It still gives me English sub-titles.

Not a Topfield 3000 CI Pro owner but i have had similar experiences with other boxes. Such as with a humax, you can select to turn on subtitles but they won't show up (even though you are on a channel that has it in the stream). And at a random interval, they will just show up! So i have to select to turn them back off straight away cause they will show up later!

So turn on subtitles and then turn them back off again. Not sure if it is the same there, but it is worth a try!

Hey, I had the same problem. Easy fixed, just click menu, system settings, subtitle language, then choose disable !!!

... and the reason they keep coming back is 'cos you are turning the box on and off and the system resets the sub text to on, which is the default.
