western 350 external harddisk with dreambox 7020

Hello,

I am using a gemini latest image on dreambox 7020 and want to use the following external harddisk.
Western Digital My Book Essential, Edition 320GB USB2.0

Has anyone tried mounting external device from western or any other make in Gemini?
If I will have to mount, how can that be done, im new to Linux?
Does it works fine like any internal disk?
Will I have to install the drivers under dreambox to use external harddisk?

Unfortunately i dont want to connect an internal or network share because i want to use the external device for other things as well.
