Advice wanted re receivers

Hello everyone, I am looking here, as they are local to me ( same state )

http://www.globalsat.net.au/default....roup=Receivers

And want peoples feedback and opinions on their receivers..

I am unfortunately not financial enough to stretch to a dreambox, BUT the others are within my meager budget..

What do people recomend, and why ??

Thankyou everyone who replies.

Better late then never hey xr6

If you can't pad out ur budget for the DBox then the rest of them on the market are decided on matter of personal preference. They are all decen't pieces of equipment otherwise would not be re-sold.

the uec910 is a provider box(aurora) and has very limited features, but will continue to work on aurora at least. it is not very user friendly on other satellites.

the topfield 3200 is an excellent box, but has euroI chip and may not continue to work on pay services or aurora in the future, depending on what changes happen. but is excellent for other services(encrypted), as long as allcam software is available, and fta.

personally i would spend the extra on the emtech 200 and an irdeto 2.06 cam. they are an excellent box and can be software allcammed(as can the ci cam), making them a bit more future proof on australian services. they have 2 ci cam slots and digital audio as well as scart rgb.

the topfield 3000 has a few problems with build quality, so i would steer clear of them.

Topfield TF 3200IR is the way to go.....
i was in the same boat as you,,,a tiny budget for my 1st stb.....
FUTURE COMPATIBILITY with aus pay tv is really just a stab in the dark ,,,,UNTIL IT HAPPENS......????????????

for now this box has far exceeded my expectations($299 incl gst) and if i get 12 months out of it before it becomes obsolete i will have definately GOT MY MONEYS WORTH!!!!!!

Why don't you buy one of the Dreambox DM5620s' which are advertised recently for $440 or so. At least you'd have a more versatile option...
