dream and satelite

hello im a newbie and i and trying to get my dream500 to scan for ecostar,
can any one help

there is a file called satellites.xml in your dm500
it resides at /var/etc

copy it to your pc and edit it with a unix type editor i.e. ultra edit
goto http://www.lyngsat.com/america.html select the echostar you want to scan and manually add it to your satellites.xml file following the pattern already in use!
copy the file back and restart enigma; from then on you should find your echostar satellite in the scan menu

else goto www.dbfn.tv and download the satellite.xml file you need from there
