FIXED - mp36 in linux, faulty phoenix mode

hi

FIXED (see at the end)

I've got this usb mp3.6
In windows, I can use multiprog to set it to phoenix mode, then start newcs and it's happy. In linux, when I send *} to it, the led just flash, indicating that the phoenix mode doesn't kick in. (it should stay on for that mode). I've also seen another phoenix command, namely "echo -e "\052\175" > /dev/ttyUSB0" (seen on another post at this forum, same hardware).

The firmware is 5.0 (as reported by the multiprog software).

I've set up another mp3.6 before, it works. Don't know the firmware on that one as it's not with me anymore. So I guess that the fault is in the new 5.0 firmware? Anybody here that can confirme this?
Is it even possible to extract an earlyer firmware? I've only seen the function to update, not extract.

Thanks in advance

EDIT : sorry, must be blind - too tired when posting - so I missed the "programmers" category... feel free to move this post if needed.

FIXED : wrote my own C routine to set the tty DTR value right.
