getting BSKYB on both astra 19.2 & 28 deg HELP

I have just set up my dreambox using a 1 meter dish and I am having problems with alignment of the dish.

I have brought a Sat finder meter and seems to find the sat but I dont think I am finding the right one. When I go into setup in db and choose Astra 19.2 it gives a signal greater than 70%.........I do a scan and i just get BskyB channels. I go into setup again and change satellite to Astra 28.2 ......... I do a scan and get even more channels on BskyB !

For setup purposes I am only using one of my 2 LNBs and I am not using a Disec Swith.

What is going on here ? If my dish is alligned on the Astra 28 degrees why do I still get UK sky FTA on Astra 19.2 deg ? I do not want UKsky I want the rest of the European channels found on Astra 19.2 deg

you are more than likely on 28.2 and not 19.2..

standing behind the dish, you need to swing the dish 9 deg to right and possibly lower its vertical angle a little to get 19.2.. but if you fit the signal meter again and start turning.. the next "beep" will probably be 23 deg and then further on is 19.2.

Re: getting BSKYB on both astra 19.2 & 28 deg HELP

I managed to get Astra 19.2 ! BUT ,,,, I just can not get hotbird now. I have a 90 % signal on Astra, looking from front of the dish, the LNB is on the right. So I put the left LNB ( using an offset 1metre dish) in place but no Hotbird !

So to be sure that Hotbird signal was arround ( got trees and a house 30 metres away) i turned the dish so as to get the strongest beam from Hot bird. All i could get was 52 % and Dreambox tuner could just not lock on. Infact the signal was contiuously going crazy from 52 to 58 %.

I turned dish to get Astra again and got 90% signal, but the left hand LNB (hotbird) was just getting the 52 %.

Could it be that the few degrees difference from 19.2 to 13 was enough to be obstructed by the house or trees infront of the dish ? Cause when my dish was set up in Malta, if I could get AStra then I could get HOt bird on the same dish but using offset LNBs

House 30 meters away, even 4 stories high (around 12m) can't be the problem.
