How to use rs232 on strong 8700??

Hi, can someone please help me with this problem?

I would like to use the RS232 port on the Strong 8700 sat reciever to change to a specific channel. I have build a HTPC-computer for recording, and would like this computer to change the channel on the strong reciever and then start recording.

Anybody knows which program can communicate with the Strong reciever, and which codes are neede to switch to ie channel 53??

Thanks Steen

All you can do with the RS232 port is update the boxes firmware. You cannot (to my knowledge) use it for pass through commands like other device service ports.

I may be wrong, but am pretty sure this is the case

Thanks for your answer - but then I have a problem. How do I make the HTPC-computer change channels on the Sat reciever?

Any suggestions?
