Can RG-6 coax cable be conjuncted?

My friends is decorating his new house. He is thinking install a satellite dish later. My question is can coax cable be conjuncted?
The idea is to have socket both in living room and outside wall, and cable is then go inside the wall. The system looks like,

Lnb ----->>-----Go through wall------------<<----->Receiver

With two joints, will signal attenuates alot? Should he has a bigger dish instead?

Thank you.

Find some solution where you don't need to split the cable, like drilling a hole now and maybe insert some pipe or close the hole temporarily, so you can run the cable through it later.
Or install the full length of cable and keep the ends sealed.

The main problem will not be cable loss, but opportunity for external interference to enter at the connections.
