Vbox Ii

Yo all,

This question is directed at the VBOX owners - I know the box can control an actuator, but does it have faclilites to control a Polarotor servo?

I use a vbox to control my polarmount actuator. (36V) without problem.

Ordered there: http://www.hm-sat-shop.de/10223.ahtml

NO control for polarizers, just 4 connectors all in all. M1,M2,Sen,GND

I guess I am going to build one then :-) a low cost rotor controller (with polarity) I am sure I can keep the cost below $50 US (well let the games begin then :-)

The whole point of having a VBOX is trasparency in use, you zap and it moves. I don't see how you plan to convert a constant binary signal (13/18v) out of tuner to adjust a polarizer automatically (and differently) for each individual antenna position (and by channel even), unless you plan to use just two fixed polarizer positions which I think defies the purpose of using a mechanical polarizer in the first place. If you don't plan to make it transparent to the user, then the box in question already exists, it's called any old analog positioner receiver

Hehehee... Well my first draft is going to use a serial port controller on the dreambox and I will add code to control it.... my second version (after its prooven) is to add 14/18v detection to auto set the polarity (but keep in mind the Vertical and Horizontal change as the dish rotates) Also going to add a dynamic skew control based on signal strength (so

And finally I plan to add Diseq to it in the end ;-) Just need to make some 22khz filters and the nice things like that. I plan to make it simple and functional (Atmel Mega88 CPU is what I am using).

So far the controller is controlling the polarotor (but thats all so far)
