Re: Another Dreambox to PC TV application

Great job!

Although I have some questions m.b. related only to NA "dreamboxers"

1. EPG just shows time frame on first row, and there is "-" on the second one. Is it possible to display same EPG info that used in DB when you press Info button?

2. I can see video stream only when I press "Start Output", otherwise it shows VLC cone. But If I copy VLC MRL data to VLC, it plays fine (so it seems to be a VLC IE plugin problem - BTW anybody knows how to reset plugin whithout rebooting?)

3. What is the meaning of symbols in the status bar? Once I noticed the first one went red.

Maybe, if you could pm me a sample of what you get with the url below on a troublesome channel (change hxxp to http and put in your ip),

hxxp://192.168.0.nn/cgi-bin/getEIT (can you do a right click and - view source on the results and pm me that)

thats very tough to answer. if you have version 0.8.4 or 0.8.4a of the plugin it should work. If you check the VLC forum you can find a link to VLC 0.8.5 test version 3, you could try that out too. I have noticed things do get screwed up sometimes, if i've been messing about with other ports or flicking between using bitcontrol and vlc and I find rebooting the box and maybe the pc is the only way to get a picture back. What you might want to do is turn on the file logging in vlc and look at the messages coming up in the dos box. You turn it on under

settings->preferences->Interfaces->log to file (you can change verbosity to 2 if you want)

you can specify a file for the log under

settings->preferences->advanced->logging

Can I ask if this is a problem you experience only with dreamView or do you also have difficulties with the web-x interface as well ?

3. What is the meaning of symbols in the status bar? Once I noticed the first one went red.

well I ping the box to check for a connection, as if there isn't one the app tends to hang for a little while when making HTTP requests, the little icon goes red if the ping is unsuccessful, for me thats very rarely.

cheers

Exclamation VLC fix -- Re: Another Dreambox to PC TV application

Thanks for detailed explanation. And check your PM

PS After checking the log file I found that VLC sometimes doesn't activate sout to display even if it was set in preferences before. One way to fix it is to set input option to :sout=#duplicate{dst=display} :sout-all during program start.

PPS Never mind, I found where the problem was. Now it works 100% - just needed to open VLC (0.8.4 and 0.8.4a tested), set VLC Settings/preferences/stream out/general/Default stream output chain=ALL and check all boxes on the tab General (make shure Advanced options checked)

Re: Another Dreambox to PC TV application

For the people that are having problems with loading their bouquets from the DB:

Check if the connection properties of Internet Explorer are using a Proxy, if so, uncheck that option and then try again in Dreamview to load the bouquets.

Re: Another Dreambox to PC TV application

I've been trying to get it to work with Gemini 2.8 but no luck at all. ¿Does anyone have this working with 2.8?

Re: Another Dreambox to PC TV application

It works on 2.8 for sure. Check your PC config first. I think the problem is laying there. Is WEB-X-TV working at web interface?

Jarex, thanks for the reply. I have discovered that it does work great, but only for the FTA channels. I cant stream to the PC any of the encrypted channels, although I can see then on the TV via the emu.

¿Any idea why the encrypted channels cannot be streamed to the PC?

Re: Another Dreambox to PC TV application

There are a couple of posts here about enabling "all elementary streams" in VLC. Also post #33 above

hxxp://www.sat-industry.net/forums/showthread.php?t=28620
hxxp://www.sat-industry.net/forums/showthread.php?t=28500

I've found this works nicely on a lot of channels that used not to work with VLC although channels with multiple soundracks sound horrible. The bit about making sure "all" is in the output chain in the first post seems important. I've put the ability to select this :sout-all option on a channel basis rather than for all channels in the next version.
