Samba for Gemini 2.40

Does anybody know how to make Samba work on Gemini image for 7020 ?

This works for a db 7000
Should be the same for 7020

No it is not the same.
If you read German, http://www.tecchannel.de/server/linux/432469/ will be helpful (also all the necessary software there).

i cannot read that because i dont speak German

i noticed that they have add to the Gemini options a seperate download for samba for 7020 (this must have been made today because i had checked when i installed the 2.40 image and there was only for 7000..that was before i posted the message)

it doesn't work for me cannot understand why...
only thing that might be different in my box is that image is on CF card
with Flashwizzard

anybody can help ?

isn't there an option in blue panel to activate samba? i think you need to do this.

I figured it out if you install Samba for 7020 from blue button then it isnt started the first time...you need to deactivate it and activate it again

Also after reboot it is checked but not working you need to uncheck and check again...any fix for that ?

I am having problem to connect my DM's HDD to my PC with Gemini 2.40 (Windows Xp asks me for a logon/password ???) where I have no problem at all with Gemini 2.20. Any help with that ?

PS : I read in this thread that switching off and on Samba might help but I can't see any Samba box with Gemini 2.40 in "Blue Panel -> Extras / Settings -> Network -> " !!!

you have to download the samba plugin (there are 2 one for 7000 and one for 7020, get the right one) and then the option will appear in the Extra Options-Network of the Gemini menu
But it wont work the first time (or if you do a reboot)
You must uncheck it (&save) and then check it again (&save)

that way works for me
