NDS decoding help please

Im currently a Dreambox user, and am considering throwing the old linux POS out in favour of adding a Hauppage nexus dvb-s card in my livingroom HTPC. I subscribe both to Viasat (using NDS encryption) and to Canal Digital (using Conax). Im considering subscribing to Sky Digital aswell, but that has yet to be decided. Anyways, using the DB, both cards work in the internal cardslots, using the Newcamd emu. Is it possible to run the newcamd emu in a windows enviroment with a DVB-S card? also, searching the web, i havent been able to find any suitable cardreaders for this purpose, all ive been able to find, has been cam-slots, wich im guessing will be allright for my Conax card, but i doubt will work with my NDS card. As ive understood, phoenix card programmers should work, but will it be possible for me to use more than one simultaniously, ie using both a SKY card and a Viasat card at the same time? Most of all, id prefer a 3,5" cardreader for this purpose, so i could mount it where the floppy normally goes. Anything like that availiable? Thx in advance for whatever answers u guys can provide!

You can use a sc8in1 for up to 8 smartcards on one serial port, it works with a dvb-s on a PC, a Dreambox, a dbox2 (com1 or com2) etc.

The sc8in1 is supported by newcamd, gb** and others.

You can also use 2 * sc8in1 (on com1 and com2) and use up to 16 Smartcards the same time.

Search for sc8in1 with google.

thx. that will work. how bout just using 3 standalone phoenix usb programmers tho, will that work aswell? like this USB Phoenix programmer

the sc8in1 sollution seems like to much of a homebrew product without any casing and i dont really wanna use something like that in my livingroom, unless i can use it with a networked pc instead, but id imagine it needs to be connected to the same pc containing the dvb-s card, in order for the subscription cards to auto-update? thx for the help so far!

Dont forget the com port on our DB. You can use that for a third card and phoenix programmer. Ive havent tried it myself, but I think it was a "must" in order to get a famous NDS card work with G**x, at least in the earlier versions. Should work with Newcamd aswell.
