Umm wouldnt a stand alone application be a little more secure for people to put there spider details into? Seems like there is a bit of room for the details of server configs to get into the wrong hands using a web site..........

How can I change the cardserv.cfg file (in var_init/tuxbox/config). I need my box id to be entered, but i am unable to upload a new cardserv.cfg file. I can only upload to var/tuxbox/config.

(I am using DCC)

I'm using a Newcamd 6.10b + cardserver in both carded and softemu mode. In softemu mode, its AUing consistently on 146E using Nagra1, however the keys generated on some of the bytes of the pks are always 1 bit higher.

When I choose to use card method, it is also working as long as the funcard still has valid keys. When there is a new key change, the card does not AU.

The only differrence I could see from the logs between the two method is in softemu mode, ECMs as well as EMMs are sent to the emu. While in carded mode, only ecm request/response are being exchanged.

Are the emm packets the ones responsible for AU. I noticed that the "AU " word only comes up on an emm message log.

As a summary, I guess my question is does newcamd cardserver support nagra1 emm updates?

I am the lucky owner of one. Bought it some days ago, have installed two satellites and managed to flash Gemini project 3.2 into memory yesterday. handling system, which will automaticially copy all the necessary files to the
correct locations, changes the boot skripts to start the additional software
automatically at boot time, etc. For the Dreambox 7020, we made a seperate set
of distribution files, using the package handling system. All you need to do, is
upload the ipk files to some temporary directory (/tmp for example) and then
install the software using ipkg. Only install the packages you intend to use of
course:

ipkg install libcamdio_0.0.0_dreambox.ipk (always needed)
ipkg install newcamd_6.00_dreambox.ipk
ipkg install newcamd-cardserver_6.00_dreambox.ipk
ipkg install newcamd-cardspider_6.00_dreambox.ipk

Obviously, I should read somewhere about ipkg. Can anyone give me a link to a tutorial?
