Also having problems with newcamd 6 not starting cardserver.

So am unable to access original ART card.

Can anyone tell me please command to start cardserver by telnet?

TELNET dreambox
cd var/bin and HIT enter
and type the command ./cardserver
HIT enter
this should start cardserver you may have the file under
cardserv if it says cardserver not found try ./cardserv

Thats what I thought - I get the following response:

./cardserver: 1:syntax error: "(" unexpected /var/bin

Checked that I am in correct location & ls shows file is present!

Tried several times always the same....

You have put in a damaged executable, try to re-ftp it again (or pick up it from another place).
If you FTP it manually, make sure that FTP is set to "binary" mode before transfert.

Thanks musicbob, you were right - changed over cardserver and it started straight away.

Have you any ideas why some of us are having problems getting cardserver to start when we reboot image using newcamd 6 (I'm using latest SDT DaVinci)

Hello every body.

Since I have put NEWCAMD6.0 on Hydra7000 Phoenix 1.09 Final Image, when I change of channel I have on screen a debug message during 1 or 2 seconds. How to remove this message?

Hi guys, I've a big problem with newcamd 6.0! I use hydra phoenyx image. I download emu directly from download panel...I install it...My original nds cam starts working....If I restart my db 7020 newcamd doesn't work again!!! I've the same problem if i use keys. When i rebot my db i couod not be able to use newcamd anymore?Can I've an hardware problem?

Hmz, seems like there's a problem with betad/cardserv/newcamd being started at boot-time? You can check by telnetting to the dreambox and use the following command:

ps -ef|egrep "cam|card|betad"|grep -v grep

If betad/cardserver isn't started after a bot you should ask this question in the Hydra-forum instead of here?
