Hi all, I notice that many people are deleting the 15 byte file that some of the installations are inserting in /var/tuxbox, this is in fact a shortcut to /var/scce which allows you to leave scce etc in the normal place.

Rgds, Welshman..

Hi!.

Also the Reboot, not only standby, after installation are forgotten.
Remember that, it will save users a lot of trouble.

Just tried the Newcamd v6 and betad in my 7000, put betad.cfg in the var/tuxbox/config directory and inserted the 10 digit UK BOXID then inserted the legit card in the upper slot (ser 0) then restarted the box but when betad starts I just get "card init" then "init failed" The UK card is fine and works great in normal box.

What am I doing wrong?

Chris

Hi Chris, we have managed to get most channels working without the box ID
however, it is the cardserv.cfg file you need to use your card, I have attached a working file for you, place it in /var/tuxbox/config and put the card in the top slot (contacts down).

Rgds, Welshman.
Attached Files
File Type: zip cardserv.zip (4.2 KB, 243 views)

Thanks, worked first time! Pity only works with betad. However add cs2gbox and it's a different story

losing settings on reboot

using hydra beta with newcamd 6.0 and offical s** uk card, i can get cardserv started using telnet. everything clears fine that i have subscibed to etc. I can then turn to different sattelites etc switch to other cams etc and it still works normally when i come back to 28.5. but when i rebot dreambox i am losing the settings in cardserv.cfc etc and it will not start unless re edit the cardserv kill all the proccesses and restart cardserv using telnet. I did not have this problem when i was running 5.28 have tried the latest config files etc but no success any help on this would be welcome as its driving me nuts as i prefer to totally shut my box down when im out.

no problems when using sdt image with newcamd 6.0 but i prefer hydra which is on the flash

Red face An idea....

I had the same problem, but it was solved exactly as described in the thread. Note that the newcamd config file must be in tuxbox/config. If you have had earlier newcams, you might have other config files in other locations. Only a thought.....
